Every week, books arrive in the UK in container loads needing new Euro bar codes, re-packaging, re-pricing, and in some cases, new jackets and shrink wrapping, before being delivered back to the Glasgow depot for distribution. To handle the large volume of pallets, the company was looking for an extra site that was geographically suitable, had capacity for articulated vehicles and could provide quick turn around of product.

We invested in label machines, computers and software, pallet lifters, conveyords, and shrink wrappers, and upgraded our Hillington site with a new door and modern racking as well as providing extra staff training in IT and ISBN label systems. We now provide Harper Collins with a range of diverse operations from three Workscope sites in Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and Hillington.
